X (Twitter)¶
Buzzator posts single tweets and full threads to X, with support for images, video, polls, and per-post reply controls. Your caption limit depends on the X subscription tier of the connected account — Buzzator detects it when you connect. This page covers the rules and the options unique to X.
Formats and limits¶
| Setting | Limit |
|---|---|
| Caption | 280 characters (up to 4,000 / 25,000 on Premium) |
| Formats | Single tweet, thread |
| Images | Up to 4 per tweet |
| Video | 1 per tweet |
| Thread | Up to 25 tweets |
| Alt text | Up to 1,000 characters per image |
| Publishing rate | About 200 posts per 15 minutes |
Caption length depends on your X plan¶
X's character limit scales with the account's subscription, and Buzzator reads your tier at connect time:
| Tier | Caption limit |
|---|---|
| Standard (no subscription) | 280 characters |
| X Premium / Premium Basic | Up to 4,000 characters |
| X Premium+ | Up to 25,000 characters |
Reconnect if you upgrade
Buzzator detects your tier when you connect X. If you upgrade or downgrade your X subscription later, reconnect the account so the caption limit updates to match.
Images or video — not both¶
A single tweet can carry either up to 4 images or exactly one video — never a mix of the two. If you attach both, X expects the video as the sole attachment.
- Video (standard account) — up to about 512 MB, up to 140 seconds.
- Video (Premium) — up to about 8 GB, up to 3 hours.
Threads¶
Set the format to thread to publish a chain of tweets, each replying to the one before it. You can build up to 25 tweets in a thread. Images can go on the first tweet only, or be distributed one per tweet.
If a tweet mid-chain fails to post, Buzzator flags the thread as partially published and links you to the first tweet, rather than silently claiming it all went out.
Polls¶
Attach a poll to a tweet:
| Poll setting | Limit |
|---|---|
| Options | 2 to 4 |
| Length per option | Up to 25 characters |
| Duration | 5 minutes to 7 days |
A poll can't share a tweet with media
X doesn't allow polls and media on the same tweet. If you attach media, the poll is dropped.
Who can reply¶
X lets you gate replies on a per-post basis. Choose who can reply when you compose:
| Option | Who can reply |
|---|---|
| Everyone | Anyone (the default) |
| Accounts you follow | Only people you follow |
| Only accounts you mention | Only users tagged in the tweet |
| Verified accounts | Only verified users |
| Your subscribers | Only your subscribers |
Reply settings apply to the first tweet of a thread; the rest of the chain inherits it.
Other options¶
- Made with AI — flag a post as AI-generated.
- Paid partnership — mark a post as a paid partnership.
- Community — route the post into an X Community by pasting the community URL; Buzzator also shares it to your followers' timelines.
